Gain practical tools to manage ‘brain fog’ during and after cancer treatment. This supportive session explores why brain fog happens, highlighting the impact of treatment, emotional load, and the body’s healing processes, and, importantly, what can help. You’ll come away with simple, science-based strategies to support your brain, build confidence, and feel reassured about recovery. Led by Lance Burdett, who brings extensive experience in managing challenging situations, this session is grounded in neuroscience and positive psychology, offering practical techniques to help you navigate whatever you’re facing. Yes. Expert Q&A sessions are completely free to attend as part of Cancer Support NZ’s non-medical support services for people affected by cancer. Once you register for a session, we will provide you with all the details via email so you know how to log.

You can join Expert Q&A sessions online via Zoom. All you need is an internet connection and a device. You can attend from home, or wherever feels most comfortable for you.

Yes. You are welcome to attend with friends or family. Many people find it helpful to join together so they can listen, learn, and support each other.

Expert Q&A sessions are for anyone affected by cancer — at any stage, with any cancer type. Whether you are newly diagnosed, in treatment, recovering, or supporting someone else, you are welcome.

You can expect an honest, supportive conversation with space to ask questions and hear real experiences. Sessions are relaxed, informative, and designed to help you feel more confident and less alone in what you are navigating.

plus minus Do I need to turn my camera on or speak during the session?

No. You are welcome to simply listen. There is no pressure to speak or turn your camera on. You can take part in whatever way feels right for you.
