This year, more people affected by cancer reached out for practical support, information and connection.
Together, we delivered 507 community and online classes, with 5,722 registrations and 3,485 attendances. Our community programme reached 41 locations across Aotearoa, alongside online and on-demand support available nationwide.
But the numbers only tell part of the story.
Participants gave our support an average recommendation score of 9.7 out of 10. Behind that are people finding practical ways to manage the wider effects of cancer — and feeling more confident, connected and more like themselves.
As Angie told us:
“Cancer Support New Zealand made me feel like a person again. It helped me reconnect with myself at a time when cancer had stripped so much away.”
Our facilitators and volunteers contributed 3,943 hours this year. Alongside them are the donors, Inner Wheel clubs and community groups, funders, corporate partners and supporters who help keep our services free and accessible.
Cancer Support New Zealand receives no government funding, so this impact truly is something we create together.
And the need is growing. More than 30,000 New Zealanders are diagnosed with cancer each year — around one person every 18 minutes. By 2044, annual diagnoses are projected to exceed 45,000.
Whether you donated, volunteered, facilitated a class, fundraised, partnered with us, referred someone or simply helped someone find our support — thank you.
We hope when you read our Impact Report 2026 | Cancer Support NZ, you don’t just see what Cancer Support New Zealand achieved.
We hope you see what you made possible.
